Baarsma Wines was founded in 1977. Starting with only one exclusive contract with a large wine producer from the Bordeaux, the founders Sip Baarsma and Peter Wagenaar started Baarsma’s Dranken, a wholesale and commission trade in wines. After strong growth and acquisitions of Oud Reuchlin & Boelen, Wine Excel, Hasselt Millesime, Armit Wines, Rutishausuer Barossa, La Tulipe de La Garde, Baarsma Wine Group developed in a worldwide wine-trade house with a broad selection of quality wines for all market sectors.
Being a natural product, wine comes in all shapes and sizes. Even two batches of grapes of the same variety can produce completely different wines. The flavour also depends on factors such as the climate, the terroir where the grapes are grown, how long the wine is left to mature and the maturing process. Due to our global network of sourcing and years of experience, Baarmsa Wines is able to deliver any wine required. There are no restrictions when it comes to the grape, vineyard, wine, region, climate type and final blend.
There are 14 countries of origin: France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, USA, Chili, Argentina, China, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

Concept & Brand Development
Here at Baarsma Wines we are experts in developing new wine labels. It all starts with a question from a customer or an idea. Then the market is analysed by one of our specialists. Our analysis is based on our latest market data. The opinion of our blenders and the people who are in contact with the wineries is also very important, as they know wat is possible in the current market and which options fit best with a concept and the associated timetable and budget.
Once we know what kind of wine label we want to develop, we draw up a plan together with a distributor or retailers. What type of wine is the best choice and what image would fit best? Our marketeers would be happy to help answer these questions. They have plenty of experience with both our own labels and customer’s private labels. The process ends with a strong brand for the retailers, distributor or businesses in the hotel, restaurant and catering sector.

Wine through a tap system
Wine is often offered in a bottle, but this does not always happen anymore. Baarsma Wines has developed the plastic KeyKegs. These are recyclable wine barrels for the hotel, restaurant and catering sector with a self-service tap mechanism. KeyKegs let businesses in the hotel, restaurant and catering sector buy large quantities of wine relatively cheaply. This is ideal for bars and restaurants that sell a lot of wine by glass. Dispensing from a tap is also quicker than opening a bottle and this method also means an end to the problem of dregs from open bottles.
KeyKeg is also a very sustainable choice, because the lightweight fists are recyclable. All commodities are separated in a number of steps and reused for a new KeyKeg. Due to the compact design of the fist, they are easily stackable and take up little space in both transportation and location. There is no difference in taste and quality when compared with steel vats. The KeyKeg fists are available in 20 or 30 liters.

We follow the entire process of vinification until the wine is ready. The transport and storage of the wine and then the finished product are also subject to strict requirements.
Baarsma Wines has also passed the “Test of Competence” and has been certified in accordance with a GFSI standard of food safety, International Featured Standards (Shortly IFS) for Broker.
